Even the smallest animal has more "self consciousness" than a multi-million transistor(gates) computer.
I remember, when I was student, it was foretold, that above a certain level of complexity, computers would evolve into a conscious being.
We are a magnitude of 1000 over this threshold - still nothing.
I like Penrose's idea, where consciousness is located, well into the realm of quantum dynamics, never to be reached.
